Reviewalmart Trust & Verification Methodology

Transparent, evidence-backed rules governing review visibility, upvoting, and company trust scoring.

1. The 10 Net Upvotes Visibility Threshold

On Reviewalmart, reviews do not instantly display their complete contents to the entire web without community validation. Every approved review begins in the Building Credibility state.

When a review receives sufficient community validation, calculated as:

net_score = upvotes - downvotes
full_visibility = (approved == true) AND (net_score >= 10)

The review automatically transitions to Fully Visible. If subsequent downvotes reduce the net score below 10, the review returns to the limited preview state. This ensures that community visibility is driven by real customer resonance, not artificial manipulation.

Critical Distinction: Upvoting determines community helpfulness and prominence, not factual accuracy. Negative reviews and critical feedback are never suppressed simply because a business downvotes them or requests removal.

2. How the 0-100 Trust Index is Calculated

We never invent company trust scores or assign arbitrary risk ratings. Every score shown on a company profile is calculated strictly from measurable, verifiable factors:

  • Customer Satisfaction (Max 35 points): Normalized average star rating across all eligible customer reviews.
  • Verified Purchase Ratio (Max 25 points): Proportion of reviews substantiated with purchase receipts, enterprise invoices, or active subscriptions.
  • Business Identity Verification (Max 20 points): Claimed ownership (+10 pts) and corporate domain verification (+10 pts).
  • Company Engagement (Max 20 points): The company's track record of officially responding to customer feedback in a timely manner.
  • Integrity Deductions (-50 points): Applied only when an active, documented investigation by consumer protection bodies or platform moderators confirms ongoing fraud or non-delivery.

3. Anti-Payola & Independence Policy

Reviewalmart operates under an immutable independence rule:

  • No business can pay to remove, suppress, or modify customer reviews.
  • Business owners may post public official responses and may report reviews for policy review.
  • Only independent platform moderators can take action on reported reviews, adhering strictly to our transparent community guidelines.
